Robert, did your inquiry to Wagner Farm mention that you were opposed to the auctioning of the animals or was it a general inquiry?
Funny how he proves our point by saying: In my youth I was a 10 year member of a 4-H club and I can tell you the lessons that I learned about responsibility, finance and hard work have stuck with me to this day. The 4-H club taught him that animals are commodities. |

Please consider writing to local media. Maybe we can all raise awareness and tell them this current situation with the lambs and pigs isn't cool!
Email me for list of media contacts if you are interested! |

URGENT ACTION NEEDED TOMORROW!!!
We are gathering people to present a peaceable public presence in support of saving the Wagner Farm/ Glenview Clovers 4H lambs and pigs who are scheduled to be taken to the Lake County Fair, which begins July 27, and sold at auction for slaughter. The media has been invited as well. We are in the process of arranging humane homes and transport for them. There is no reason for these animals to be sold for slaughter, for us to have to jump through hoops trying to obtain them directly from the auction - which is a difficult if not impossible feat - or for these animals to be put through the trauma and chaos of being taken to a county fair just to be sold to be killed. A program involving slaughter is not needed and is inappropriate at this tax payer supported farm! Please join us: SATURDAY, JULY 24, 2010 9:00 A.M. WAGNER FARM 1510 WAGNER RD. GLENVIEW, IL (CORNER OF EAST LAKE AVE. AND WAGNER RD; 1 MILE WEST OF THE EDENS EXPRESSWAY) Please DO NOT park in the church parking lot across the street from the Farm. Please park on public streets north of Lake Avenue. If you bring signs, say something positive such as, "Please Spare the Lives of the 4H Lambs and Pigs" "We have offers of humane homes and transport for the 4H lambs and pigs - Slaughter is not a humane option" - something polite and positive. If you don't want to bring signs, it's just as important that we have a presence there since the media has been contacted. |

UPDATE: Our event this morning was a huge success considering that the media and many supporters were dealing with flood issues.
This event will be ongoing as we work to address the animal welfare issues at Wagner Farm. As someone who has dealt with these people for 8 years, CHANGE IS POSSIBLE THERE, as long as we keep up our presence. Let's remember that the issue does not end in any way with the current lambs and pigs. The other animals there need our protection as well. Thanks so much everyone, on behalf of these innocent animals who need ALL of our voices! Please join our Facebook page. |

I have done a lot of leafletting for PETA on a number of issues, and and I sign Petitions all the time for them. That's about my involvement with PETA. We can forward the information on to them to see what they can do to assist us. I don't know any of them personally.

If you think our local group can handle it, that's great. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt to ask PETA. From my experience with PETA, they will help at all levels... even a case of abuse of one animal, if they're called for help, PETA will help.

Any help would be great then since the situation is getting deeper. Two articles that we wrote and had published on the Tribune Local Glenview edition have mysteriously disappeared off their website. Also, Wagner farm director, Todd Price says (even though the animals have been raised on tax-payer land) that the 4-H parents own the lambs and pigs so it's out of his hands. Better yet, the Village of Glenview board says it is out of their hands and the park district who owns the farm will not respond. It seems to be out of everyone's hands. Isn't that something!?
