How did you hear about the group? (a friend, Facebook, an invite, Meetup search, etc.)

I have a friend in DC involved in some vegan groups there, and I thought it sounded like fun.

What's your favorite pastime?

Hiking.

What book would you recommend to your friends?

That would depend very much upon which friends. Maybe Cucina Povera, which has a lot of Italian recipes that are not pasta with tomato sauce. I like Terry Prachett, and Mercedes Lackey.

If you will win 10 million dollars, what would you do?

That depends on a lot of things. I think 50% goes to the IRS. I would like a bigger garden, one that gets sunlight. And a room big enough for a piano. Piano lessons. I would get my little sister a tutor. I would take trips to where my friends come from. I would make a big sledding hill, maybe on the midway. Maybe I would contribute to Jamie Oliver's food revolution, and maybe I would contribute to the county health services. Maybe I would be able to right some social injustice slight. I would have to talk to my friends and family, and see what they think. But the goal would be to not spend much of it until the 2nd or 3rd year, when I've had time to see more of the world and to think. 5 million dollars has to be used very strategically to not go into a void.
