Creating delicious dishes without any animal products, busting myths about Raw being bland, and indulging in RAW deliciousness!
Karyn proves that RAW food is delicious and exciting! She will be bringing her love of exotic blends of fruits, grains, vegetables, and sprouts to the Kenmore Live Studio for a summertime infusion of scrumptious!
"Why raw?" you may ask. Karyn says that while cooking vegetables can make some nutrients more available, such as the lycopene in tomatoes, cooking can also destroy or inactivate certain cancer-fighting enzymes such as alliinase found in garlic and myrosinase found in broccoli. Eating raw food dishes can also be a refreshing new way to experience different tastes and textures, instead of getting stuck in the meat and potatoes rut!
Karen Calabrese has been a vegan for over 25 years and is a proponent of Living Foods. She believes that the most magnificent gift any of us will ever be given is our own body. She’s learned that good nutrition is good eating, good digesting, and absorbing the nutrients your body needs. Karyn’s Raw is committed to using only whole fresh foods (organic) whenever possible.
Menu: Blueberry Mint Fizz Drink, Lentil Salad, BBQ “Beef” Sandwich, Kale Slaw, Raw Peach Cheesecake. Free food samples will be provided!
Kenmore Studio will be live-streaming this entire event to Facebook! Seats are limited on a first come first serve basis. Also, a short video capturing the highlights of the event will be available for everyone to be able to share it with your friends after the event.

Hi Everyone!
Doors open at 6:00 and the demo starts at 7:00. Please consider arriving by 6:30 to socialize and for better seating. Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday!
TRAFFIC ALERT: President Obama will be at the Cultural Center at 5 pm (and elsewhere?) Please be aware that some streets might be closed to traffic or diverted. This could affect your travel time, so plan accordingly.
Parking FYI: Nick, who works there, stated the following about parking:
There is street parking right outside for $2.50/hr. Only problem is it's 2 hour max, so you might have to leave the show to feed the meter depending how early you arrive. (Show is at 7, doors open at 6)
There is also a parking lot across the street (Wells) that charges somewhere from $10-15, I believe.
