I'd like to get a ride with someone from the northside. Evelyn
I'm also looking for a ride from the North Side. I live in Lincoln Square. Thanks! Pauline
Hi, im planning on bringing my family thats visiting the country, so thats 4 guests total; i know there's a 3 max but i hope thats ok
Cat and Evelyn - Claudia I could give both of you a ride from the Northside. However - the only caveat is we may be leaving not too late (i.e. - not staying for dinner, or at least not lingering long at dinner). Regardless, you are welcome to get a ride down with us if you want. And, if the latter schedule works, get a ride back with us.
Hi Shanti!....I thought that was you at the Beach Party this Sunday. I can give you a ride if you'd like, though I'm not sure about the "optional" food part after. GMO food has pushed me over the edge into only eating organic food and totally cramped my social life.....LOL
I don't necessarily need a ride, if somebody is going there using the red line or something, I'd like to go along. I just don't want o go alone.
Siri, I live downtown and would be happy to go with you on Sunday. We could take the red line together though I will not be attending the meal afterwards.... Right now I am pretty much 100% raw foodist and I have my own thing I need to do later. But would be happy to ride the el with you to get there because this is new to me too to go out there or perhaps we could catch a ride with "this Paul" together? Just a thought. LIke I said, I live downtown. Let me know. Thank you.
How about meeting outside the red line station at Grand and State?
I am just going to observe that the Red Line is not one of the ways that UC recommends to get from downtown to the campus. If you look towards the bottom of the event listing and click the link under Public Transportation you will see their recommendations.
Be Happy to give you both a ride Sharon. I'm not doing food after either, as I now have plans downtown at 8pm. Can meet you at station, intersection or your place.
Reid is right, the recomendation is to take bus#6 or metra train. Should we try bus#6? Shanti, Sharon, let me know. We can meet on State and Lake bus stop.
Hello Siri and Shanti and Paul. Paul said that he would be willing to pick us up. Do you think that might be the best since he is offering? If not, I am happy to meet you Siri and/or Shanti at State and Lake Bus stop for bus #6. I have not googled instructions on how to get there yet so I am hoping someone has directions... can you tell me how long it takes to get there? If over 45 minutes, I am thinking a ride might be best.
Sorry - something's come up and I cannot make it Sunday. Bummer. Paul - thanks for the offer of a ride. Sharon and Siri, hope you guys have fun and hope to meet you at another event!
Paul, will you be able to pick me up at North Avenue and Dearborn? If not, let me know where to be so I can join you.
Hi Sharon, Paul, Siri,
I would like to ask if there would be an extra space to ride with you?
Gabi
Gabi, I am fine with that. Siri, I am going to grab a ride with Paul if that is okay with you since Paul is offering to pick us up. Paul, where would be a convenient place for you to pick all three of us up? Would State and Lake be okay... at bus stop? Just so it is a location? And what time? Also Paul, I am not able to do the dinner... was wondering if I could grab a ride back with you? I can only stay at the latest 7:15pm. Would that work for you? If not, I understand. Thank you.
Siri, I apologize.. I just read your note too. It would be great then Paul could pick me up at Dearborn and Ohio... Gabi, where would work for you?
Hi,
Thank you very much. I could come to Dearborn and Ohio, just let me know what time.
Dearborn & Ohio appears to be the consensus...and works fine for me. Should take no more than 30 min. to get to Chapel from there....so 4:45? I'll be in a black Jeep Wrangler. Should we trade cell #'s just in case?. My number is 708-788-1417.
P.S.You're welcome Sharon, look forward to meeting you and Siri. Gabi, I believe we met this past Sunday at the Beach Party...nice to see you again. Sorry you can't make it anymore Shanti.
P. S. S. I think leaving at 7:15 should be fine Sharon. I'm not doing food either and need to be back in West Loop around 8. If the initial tour takes and hour and the campus tour takes 30/40min, we should be done 7ish.
Hi Paul. Wow.. thank you. This is so nice of you. Okay 4:45 on Ohio andDearborn it is. I will call you on your cell but will be out there on the corner close to 4:45 pm of Dearborn and Ohio (there are four corners but we will find one another with the cell!!). Paul, as far as going back... that sounds great too. I really appreciate it. It is so wonderful when things work out and life is made easier and you helped make that possible. Siri and Gabi looking forward to meeting you as well.
Hi Paul, Sharon and Siri,
Paul, thank you very much for the ride.
Looking forward to meeting everyone at Ohio&Dearborn corner 4:45PM.
East entrance, though the main entrance, if it is open, will get you there.
Parking is wonderful.
Fantastic view and great experience! Really enjoyed the trip.

Thank you Reid and organizers. Great event, I had a wonderful time.
The view from the Rockefeller cathedral of Hyde Park and downtown was stunning. Learning about the Carillon was very interesting. Climbing up those claustrophobic oxygen-free spiral stairs was challenging but worth it. Reid, thanks for the informative tour.
My only critique is that we should have been given several options in regards to restaurants. Hyde Park has many veggie-friendly restaurants and Sushi is not on the top of my list.
Anybody going there from the downtown area? I haven't been to the Southside alone and would like to go with somebody if possible.
