Chicago Folk & Roots Festival - KID FRIENDLY!
Introducing the first official ChicagoVeg kid-friendly event!
ChicagoVeg members who have children (our own kids or nieces, nephews, etc.) will share a wonderful afternoon together full of music, art, dance and fun at the Chicago Folk & Root Festival!
The festival features a kids' music tent where we can "Shimmy Down in Lindsay Town", do a Haitian dance with Dan, have a family drum circle with Rick, and rock with The Bops! The festival also has an art tent full of creative activities for the kids!
ChicagoVeg members without kids can come enjoy this event too! You can still meet us at 2:00 but then venture out to the adult stages, plus Nuestra Musica.
Bite Cafe will be there serving vegan seitan tacos and spinach pie, as well as vegetarian burgers.
Wishbone will also be there serving vegan black bean cakes, mashed sweet potatoes, and some salads.
Unfortunately, noone is allowed to bring coolers, glass bottles or cans into the park.
Cost: The Old Town School of Folk Music kindly asks for a $10 donation ($5 for seniors, 65 and over, and $5 for kids).

Fatenah IssaThis was my first folk festival and really enjoyed myself! Spent the time at the dance tent and took part in the belly dancing (as my instructor was running this session). Didn't partake in the food honestly due to the prices but enjoyed everything else just the same.
