Meatout Day Awareness on Michigan Avenue

March 20th is World Meatout Day! You are invited to join us in promoting a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle in solidarity with other teams around the world. You can choose either to come help us or simply hang out with us.
ChicagoVeg will be hosting a feed-in to celebrate and encourage vegetarianism. From 11am-3pm, we will be camped on the Magnificent Mile stocked with vegan samplers (courtesy of Vegfund), leaflets on the meat industry (courtesy of Meatout), and raffle prizes. We will be on the corner of Monroe and Michigan Ave., or somewhere in the area.
We need volunteers to talk to onlookers and dole out vegan treats. If you can help please indicate what times you will be available in your RSVP (you can volunteer for a 1, 2, or 3-hour shift). ClaireThe weather did not cooperate. It would have been a wonderful event if it was sunny and warm today as it is supposed to be the 1st day of spring but unluckily we got snowed down. Despite of that we were there and there were people who were openminded enough to accept the pamphlets and sample vegan treats.

Jackie did a fabulous job organizing this event. The weather put a lot of the people on the street in a bad mood...so it was harder than I expected to hand out free samples! But it was still fun and worth it to go.
