This location is shown only to members
Price: $5.00 per person
A member of ChicagoVeg, Nicole, has offered her PlayfulZen LLC interactive center* as the site for this event. The studio is 4 blocks away from the Red Line's Cermak/Chinatown Station (you can take the #21 CTA Bus west if you don't want to walk the 4 blocks). If you drive, there is free parking both in the lot for the building and nearby streets.
In addition to the potluck, Nicole will lead those who are interested in an eclectic mixture of dancing and painting. Not your style? We will also have boardgames to play. Both your style? - participate in both! Neither your style? Enjoy the food and meeting new people.
What to Bring:
Food to share (prepared yourself, bought from a store, take-out from a restaurant ... it's all welcome!) You may review our potluck rules here: http://www.meetup.com/ChicagoVeg/pages/Potluck_Rules
Clothes that can get paint on them (the paint is acrylic) or an apron
Your favorite board game(s)
A desire to meet new people and have fun! [not optional ]
Note: $5 donation asked to cover the cost of paint and other art supplies.
Questions: call Mike: [masked] or email: http://www.meetup.com/ChicagoVeg/message/?recipientId=356631)

*PlayfulZen LLC is a center for self discovery, the fun way. Note: For a sneak preview, attend the grand opening Friday January 8, 6-10PM. Free. Contact Nicole Villeneuve [masked] ([masked]) for details.
Mike and/or Nicole: Is there anything in particular that we would be painting??
You will have a choice of paper or plastic sheets (acrylic sticks to anything, great medium). The plastic sheets rescued from a "CLEAN dumpster" in my building. We at PlayfulZen promote: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Mike, are plates, plasticware and cups and napkins going to be supplied or does everyone have to bring some? Also, are you going to make a strong push for people to identify in a post by their RSVP what food they expect to bring?
Nicole, you say to wear clothes that can get paint on them. Is there a high likelihood that the painters will get paint on themselves? Are shoes in danger? Also, is the request for everyone to pay a $5 donation or is that just for the painters?
Would anyone like to carpool from the Evanston area?
Hey Reid - Thank you for asking. I just sent email to everyone to re-inforce posting what people will be bringing for the potluck. The rest of your questions (as well as how to get to Nicole's place) are addressed in her email or you can read it here:

Look forward to seeing you there!
Will most likely bring a small quinoa vegetable pilaf (vegan, of course) or something from Whole Foods.
I had a great time. Greg and Nicole were awsome hosts.
Thank you Mike & Nicole, it was great fun!
Had a great time last night, guys! Thanks to Mike and Nicole for organizing and being great hosts. The venue and combo of activities were great and the food - yum!
Great job Mike! What a great time. Seems like this venue would be pretty hard to top. This was the first of the ChicagoVeg events that I have been able to attend but certainly not my last.
I just added some photos. Find yourself and tag your old and new friends!
As the co-organizer, along with Nicole, I want to thank everyone for turning out for this event. Not only was it possibly our largest event to so far (55 attendees!), but it was great for me to see so many people interacting with each other - along with great food and great activities. Thank you so much Nicole for donating the space for us to use, and leading so many great events. Thank you also Greg for leading the improv, which received great reviews! Keep posted for more similar events!
