Dinner at The Great Taste Café

We are going to a newly opened, completely vegan and gluten-free restaurant in Chicago downtown - The Great Taste Café!
There are many things to be excited about eating at this place – for more info please check our message board: http://www.meetup.com...

Café gives us a great deal by offering buffet style with the following items:

- Salad bar with assorted items.
- Pizza - assorted toppings
- Quinoa salad.
- Raw ravioli with house made cashew cheese.
- Baked sesame tofu.
- Beverage

All items Organic - Vegan - Gluten-Free

Everything is for $18 (tax and tips included). The restaurant also gives us bunch of prizes for our raffle at no extra cost:
- $15.00 gift certificate
- $25.00 gift certificate
- 2 CDs from Giving Heart Band

The restaurant will generously donate 10 percent of sales to Mercy For Animals all day of the event. This is second month when we support MFA fundraising just by going to a restaurant and having a good time there!

The location is easily accessible by public transportation but if you plan to drive please consider car pooling. You can use comment area on the event page for ride offers. Parking in the building with validation is $2.00 for 2 hours - $6.00 for 4 hours.

Please note that we have limited numbers of attendees for this event so do not wait to sign up but be responsible – Three Strikes Policy is in affect for this event.

Look forward to see you at the event!

Thanks Shanti! Normally the cafe doesn't do buffet and their food is pretty expensive because the quality and cost of their ingredients. They did a favor to us by offering the buffet but it was not something like a Chinese buffet where you have unlimited amount of the food. However, I know that some people filled their plates at least twice with the "main course" so sitting and conversing instead of getting in line was not a good idea considering we had a limited amount of the food...

People enjoyable as always. Not thrilled with the place, left still hungry, and conversation was difficult.

The people were great and Thanks to Kurt and Vadim it was organized well, however I have to agree that there was not enough food. I hope to meet with everyone again soon!!

Vadim is always so welcoming and a nice group of people to dine with. The food was good, but there wasn't enough. I did not have the opportunity to have all of the main dishes because there was none left by the end of the line. Somewhat disappointing when expecting a buffet for $18.00.

Very nice people. Very nice host. Food was a little spartan and came out a bit slow.

Good place. I liked their buffet, felt i got enough food, and the ice cream and cake were scrumptious.

This was, I thought supposed to be a buffet. The company was excellent but the offerings were disappointing. The food was interesting and flavorful but amounts were inadequate. How much food did they think would feed 50 people? While I was conversing and waiting for the line to shorten, they ran out of the "main course". lame! This place does not offer buffet and should stick with what they know. I tried to keep a positive attitude but I won't be going back to this cafe. Their food did taste great but it was, you know, less filling.
