09/23/2009 Update: Sorry for an inconvenience but we have to move this event from Saturday (Oct. 10) to Sunday (Oct. 11) so we will be able to participate in Chicago VeganMania.

Come to enjoy these traditional fall activities with your friends and family! Jonamac's orchid has many activities such as apple picking, apple launching, pumpkin picking, hay rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a corn maze, and even a haunted hayride at night just to name a few! Many treats such as apple cider, fudge, and candy apples are available at their store as well.

We will be meeting at the orchard's country store at 1pm. Feel free to stay as long or as little as you like. There are many different activities to keep everybody busy.

Price: $9.00 for a 1/2 peck (5 lbs), $15.00 for a peck (10 lbs) and $27 for a 1/2 bushel (20 lbs).
There will be a good supply of fresh picked apples available for sale in the store. Store apple prices are $7.50 for 1/2 peck (5 lbs) and $13.50 for a peck (10 lbs). We also have several varieties of specialty apples that are individually priced at different rates.

We thought it would be easiest to meetup at just one event since there are so many activities there so the official event is apple picking but after I am sure many of us will explore the whole place. So yeah the corn maze is in if you want to do it, i know I am!

Sorry, orchard much further west than I thought, so got there about 25 minutes late. And I'm new... and the place was huge ... and I don't know faces very well yet... so, I just went apple picking anyway :-). Sorry to miss y'all, and have you think I didn't show. Better luck next time with _my_ planning. But got apples for myself, my Lady, Mom & a friend, also gifts for my Lady. And I'll likely soon be spicing up a gallon of apple cider. Would never have gotten there w/out ChicagoVeg Meetup invitation. Thanks! One problem w/ baked goods (pies & fudge) in the shop, they tended to omit ingredients list, and I had didn't quite have the ambition to ask if certain things were vegan/animal safe, so passed them by.
